Eminem’s Legal Battle With New Zealand Political Party Over Copyright Infringement Moves Into U.S.

When New Zealand’s National Party used in a television ad campaign a song that sounded much like Eminem’s 2002 hit “Lose Yourself,” it got sued. Earlier this year, a High Court in New Zealand held a two-week trial where Eminem’s music publisher aimed to demonstrate the political party’s ad campaign amounted to a copyright infringement. The outcome is still in limbo, but in the meantime, two companies are now engaged in a separate fight over responsibility for the hefty legal costs associated with what happened. Eminem and Justin Timberlake Raise $2 Million for Manchester Attack Victims

Popular celebrities are using their platforms to help victims of the Manchester terrorist attack. Among the list of celebrity donors include Eminem and Justin Timberlake who have already brought in a large chunk of donations through social media. According to Complex, Eminem and Justin Timberlake are two big names that have been using their social media presence to help raise money for the Manchester attack victims. Both artists shared a link to a fund that has been set up by the Manchester Evening News and British Red Cross, encouraging fans to join them in donating to the victims of the attack. Rapper,Eminem drags New Zealand govt. to court

Eminem has taken New Zealand’s governing party to court over a music track it used for a campaign advert. The U.S. rapper says the song, used in the 2014 advert by the National Party, was an unlicensed version of Lose Yourself, one of his biggest hits. But the party’s lawyers argue it was not actually Lose Yourself, but a track called Eminem-esque which they bought from a stock music library. The case began on Monday, with the two tracks played in court. A lawyer for Eight Mile Style – a publishing group representing the artist – said Lose Yourself was “iconic” and “without doubt the jewel in the crown of Eminem’s musical work”. Eminem Attacks Donald Trump In His Latest Release

Detroit born rapper, Eminem has taken shot at President Donald Trump in a profanity-laced verse on ‘No Favors’ a song off Big Sean’s “I Decided” album, which was released on Friday, February 3, 2017. In his verse, Eminem said: ‘I’m anti, can’t no government handle a commando/ Your man don’t want it, Trump’s a b**** I’ll make his whole brand go under’. He also touched on issues like police brutality, the Flint water crisis, racism in America. This won’t be the first time Eminem will attack Trump. Back in October 2016, he dropped an explosive eight-minute freestyle, where the rapper shared passionate political commentary about the 2016 election and slammed Trump supporters.
